Excerpts for wind trio (trumpet, horn and trombone)

The conceptual artist Hanne Darboven (1941-2009) primarily explores the concept of time in her work. To this end, Darboven developed her own calculation system to convert data into numbers.

Darboven, who was also an excellent pianist, translates these visual calculations of time into music. The musical scores are an invitation to further reflection on the experience of time and require personal appropriation by the performers.

As part of the exhibition ‘In your time. Traces of Weight’ at the Kunstmuseum Bremerhaven, Darboven’s work “Opus 43 A, Kinder dieser Welt”, which is part of the collection presentation, will be performed as a concert.
