Einblicke - Neues aus der Sammlung
09.09. – 13.09.2015
Dora Bromberger, Sergej Jensen, Owen Gump, Philipp Goldbach, Clemens Botho Goldbach, Thomas Schütte, Dirk Bell, Bernhard Prinz, Nina Canell, Marcel Hiller, this is a selection of artists from whom the Kunstverein Bremerhaven of 1886 e.V. has been able to acquire works of art for its art collection over the past three years.
Building up a public art collection is one of the association’s statutory tasks. The results of this task have been publicly accessible in the Kunstmuseum, opposite the Kunsthalle, since 2008. The association presents a selection of works from its collection in 15 rooms in a changing arrangement, mostly in the form of so-called artist rooms, which were designed together with the respective artists wherever possible.
However, not all works or groups of works, and in particular not all new acquisitions by the artists represented in the collection, can be presented in the museum due to the limited space. With the exhibition EINBLICK in the Kunsthalle, the art association is continuing the tradition of the so-called potpourri exhibitions, in which it gave insights into its collection and the respective new acquisitions at irregular intervals before the museum opened.
The exhibition thus offers a glimpse of future artist spaces in the museum and is also a reminder of some artists who have been present in Bremerhaven with exhibitions or as scholarship holders.
