The painter Bert de Beul, born in Ghent in 1961, has been exhibiting in Germany since the early 1990s. His paintings have been shown in several group exhibitions, with titles such as “Thinking Image and Reality”, “Distance and Proximity” and “Reality Become Image” already indicating an essential feature of his painting. The paintings, in their reduced style, remain in the indeterminate between the reproduction of a real situation and its precise identification. In a double exhibition with the Kabinett für aktuelle Kunst, the Kunstverein is dedicating a solo exhibition to Bert de Beul.
