Henk Visch
Skulptur & Grafik
25.11. – 30.12.2001

Henk Visch (born 1950 in Eindhoven) is one of the leading representatives of contemporary Dutch art. After initially working as a draftsman and painter, he increasingly turned to sculpture from 1980 onwards. His sculptures made from a variety of materials make it difficult to define the strength of his work. In 1988 he represented his country at the Venice Biennale, and in 1992 he took part in documenta IX. He lectured at the art academies in Amsterdam, Maastricht and Stuttgart. In Bremerhaven, works by Henk Visch were exhibited twice in the 1980s in the Kabinett für Aktuelle Kunst. The Kunstverein Bremerhaven, which has a number of works by Henk Visch in its collection, has now been able to persuade him to take part in a major solo exhibition at the Kunsthalle Bremerhaven. The focus will be on a group of new bronze sculptures. The exhibition is being held with the support of the Dutch Embassy in Berlin.
